2 New York City officers shot, suspect killed after shoot out
Police Commissioner Shea said, Two NYC police officers shot and killed a suspect in response to him shooting and wounding two officers. Police were at Goppy’s resident investigating a domestic dispute after a female victim went to the precinct to file a report. Goppy, 41, was an off-duty college security officer, and opened fire on police shortly after 12:45pm.

Edited to add: the use of the word “retaliation” is inappropriate and misleading because it implies the officers shot back at the suspect in an effort to seek revenge. It would be more appropriate to say they fired “in response” to the suspect’s opening fire on the officers. This is, by far, the worst summary I’ve come across on this app. Leaving out the summary would be better.
