French minister backs police chief after violence at migrant camp clearing

French Interior Minister Gerald Darmanin threw his support behind the police chief of Paris, after the Paris police came under fire after clashes at the dismantling of a migrant camp in the capital this week. Pictures showed police officers hitting demonstrators, and an investigation is currently underway. Darmanin said ’I am not going to blame all police officers who intervened in this square.’
