Jobless claims scam involving prisoners costs California millions of dollars
A California task force revealed that fake Covid-19 unemployment claims filed under the names of prisoners, including over 100 on death row, has robbed California of hundreds of millions of dollars. Calling it the ’most significant fraud on taxpayer funds in California history,’ the task force, led by the DAs from several counties, has asked for ’significant resources’ to combat the scam.

The sad thing is that the state taxpayers will soon be asked to 'make up the difference' as the state continues to stagger under its debt and pension liabilities, while the highly-paid civil servants and clueless politicians responsible for this debacle escape without consequences to their pension-paid retirements.
