Consumer spending moderates in the US in October

The US Government reported that consumer spending had moderated in October, with spending rising 0.5% after a revised 1.2% gain in the prior month. This is the smallest gain since the month of April, and economists who were polled by MarketWatch expected a 0.4% rise. Incomes also decreased by 0.7% in October, with government programs coming to an end.
