Iran state TV confirmed the release of detained British-Australian academic Kylie Moore-Gilbert by Tehran in exchange for three Iranians held abroad. It clarified that the swap had been done to try and bypass sanctions. Moore-Gilbert was a Melbourne University lecturer on ME studies when she was sent to Tehran’s Evin Prison in Sept’18 and sentenced to 10 years on widely criticized spying charges.
