Georgia says over 940,000 absentee ballot requests made for Senate runoff

Gabriel Sterling, Georgia’s voting implementation manager, said over 940,000 mail-in ballots have been requested in the state for the January 5 runoff that will decide which party controls the Senate. She said 604,255 are eligible to get mail-in ballots automatically. Incumbent Republican senators Kelly Loeffler and David Perdue are fighting Democratic challengers Jon Ossoff and Raphael Warnock.
