Russian authorities said they have arrested the ’Volga maniac’ – a man they suspect of having robbed and murdered 26 elderly women across central Russia along the Volga river, between 2011 and 2012. Police said the 38-year-old suspect, Radik Tagirov, is a locksmith with a previous conviction for theft. They said forensic analyses, which showed one person was behind the murders, led to the arrest.
