Police bust ’birth tourism’ scam in New York involving Turkish migrants

Six people were indicted for operating ’birth houses’ in New York where Turkish migrant women give birth to babies to enable the women to stay in the US by earning automatic citizenship for their children – scamming the immigration system. The six allegedly charged $7,500 per person, which included health insurance from taxpayer-funded Medicaid. So far, 117 Turkish women gave birth to 199 babies.
