Millions go on strike in India against Modi government’s policies
A 1 day general strike was joined by millions of workers in India. The strike was in opposition of the pro-investor economic reforms as well as the associated austerity measures of the government led by PM Modi. The mass movement and huge mobilization resulted in the involvement of around 250 million people according to organizers. Ten central trade unions had called for the strike to happen.
