UK didn’t scrutinize vaccine trial data as carefully as FDA, Fauci says
Dr. Fauci, the director of the National Institute of Allergy and Infectious Diseases in the US, criticized the speed at which UK regulators approved the use of the Pfizer-BioNTech Covid-19 vaccine. ’We have the gold standard of a regulatory approach with the FDA. The UK did not do it as carefully,’ he said. The US FDA is scheduled to hold a public meeting on 10 Dec. to review the vaccine.

The more rights a society has, the more risky it is to get something like this wrong. In the US, if we took something with long-term side-effects, people would burn the empire. In the EU/UK, they don't even have freedom of speech. Rights we have in general, are often de facto there, until the government wants to act. Count Dankula is an example. A joke ruined his life for years as the UK government tried to put him in prison. It's crazy.
