St Paul man convicted of 29-year-old murder case after DNA analysis nails him
Donald Jenkins Jr, a St Paul man, has been convicted in the 1991 murder of 20-year-old Belinda Thompson, after authorities reopened the case in 2018 and found DNA evidence on a cloth left at the scene. Prosecutors said Jenkins, 58, was questioned in 1992 and 2010, but didn’t admit to the killing until 2018 when he revealed that his DNA was there. Thompson was found to have been stabbed 11 times.
