UK launches $1.01 billon procurement plan for cloud services

Britain has launched a £750 million (around $1.01 billion) procurement program looking for platform and infrastructure services direct from public cloud providers. The UK’s Crown Commercial Service is drafting an agreement for public sector companies to buy from. The idea behind this is that the UK government believes bulk buying from them will make cloud services more economical.
