The Wall Street Journal reported that lawyers for the detained Huawei chief finance officer, Meng Wanzhou, have spoken to Department of Justice officials about entering a ’deferred prosecution’ agreement for Meng’s release. Meng was detained on the behest of the US in Canada in December 2018 over violation of US sanctions on Iran. The report says Weng may be released if she admits to wrongdoing.
The US should be in talks with us, Canada. We are the ones who detained her on a US warrent and have her held here for over 2 years. We did this because we respect International Law. 2 Canadians were arrested in China as retaliation and are being held with out charge. Plus this situation had really strained our relationship with China. Our hands are tied. It's up to the US to resolve this situation.😂🇨🇦
