Marijuana decriminalization bill passed by the House

Marijuana decriminalization bill passed by the House

The House of Representatives passed a bill decriminalizing marijuana at the federal level, on Friday. As per this recent measure, marijuana would be removed from the list of federally controlled substances and federal convictions for non-violent marijuana offenses would be expunged. The bill will now go to the Senate, where it is not likely to be passed.

Obviously trying to stop it by making it illegal doesn't work. Wasted countless lives creating drug cartels moving this drug. Since it is less addictive and dangerous than alcohol, it should be legal at a federal level, and regulated at the state level. Let the states decide for themselves what they would like to do here. True freedom. Using the argument that this is a stepping stone drug towards harder drugs doesn't work because that's what alcohol is. You say this as you hold your alcohol drink. Then make it illegal. Comparing it to cocaine or heroin or whatever is also absolutely foolishly outlandish. Harsh drugs like this are another subject.

NO drug or substance should be illegal to possess, ingest, or otherwise consume; the only thing that ought to matter is whether a person is operating a vehicle safely or not, and what is in their body is irrelevant. This bill is a good start but insufficient. The Senate *ought* to add provisions in it to release and compensate those imprisoned for nonviolent marijuana offenses, and expunge their marijuana convictions.

We all know that traitor bitch Mitch McConnell wont even take it to the floor to be voted on. Anyone who defends him is delusional and needs to rethink themselves.

What a great waste of time and taxpayers money on a bill DOA in the senate instead of getting the AMERICAN CITIZENS stimulus checks, and extended unemployment and help for real small businesses and not leftist pipe dream social engineering.

Progressives: Want to legalize drugs, because criminals don't follow laws anyways. Also progressives: Wants to ban firearms Conservatives: Want to keep firearms legal, because criminals don't follow laws anyways. Also conservatives: Wants to make drugs illegal. Libertarians: Guys...

I think the Republicans should pass this in the senate as this issue of legalized weed isn't a Democrat vs Republican issue anymore, Three very Strong Republican States Arizona, Montana and North Dakota did so and two more Republican states Florida and Ohio in 2021 are thinking of passing legislation in order to do. Also if the Republicans in the senate do this, they could get more moderate voters and maybe flip some Democrat seats in the future.

This makes sense. Thousands are dying, hundreds of thousands are becoming infected, and millions are without an income, and the Left is more concerned about their dealer. Typical Dems thinking only of their needs.

Literally almost everyone wants this, Feminist, libertarians, democrats, hippies, celebrities, trump supporters, even some boomers, and most sharking is the police even want it decriminalized. You know who wants it to be illegal, cartels, gangs, and politicians

They shouid have done it before the election, it's a state issue. Even if you want laws against weed fir some reason it's not a federal issue unless someone is smuggling it over the border by the ton without permission.

If you really want to fight the war on drug dealers, you have to dry up their revenue stream. This will also lead to fewer blacks sent to jail... Of course republicans will block it.
